Sustainable Business Practices: A Must!
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a holistic approach to business that creates value in ecological, economic, and social spheres. At Alertis, we too consciously focus our activities on adding value in these three areas.
The United Nations has established seventeen Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that each of us can work toward. These are global objectives designed to ensure that we move toward sustainable development. These goals can be divided into five major themes: People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace, and Partnership.
In short, the goal is to set social and environmental objectives that align with our expertise and create the most value in those areas. In doing so, we strive to minimize the negative impact of the value chain and maximize our positive impact on society.
Today, corporate social responsibility is no longer a trend but a necessity. So we, too, believe it is important to consistently prioritize this. In a sense, sustainable business is already part of our identity. For example, we offer our employees bicycle leasing, invest in hybrid vehicles and charging stations, have equipped our headquarters with solar panels, are fully committed to training for our staff, sponsor local social initiatives, and use digital signatures.
The 5 Ps of Sustainable Business
People
We create a safe and healthy workplace for our employees (as evidenced, among other things, by our VCA** certification), ensure that everyone has equal opportunities, invest in training, and have implemented an LMRA (Last-Minute Risk Analysis) that our technicians always keep in mind. New employees receive a warm welcome and are assigned a job coach whom they can turn to at any time. A strong team spirit is one of Alertis’ core values, and throughout the year there are various initiatives to foster this (get-togethers, outings, participation in running, soccer, or cycling competitions, etc.).
Planet
We invest in sustainable transportation and have installed the necessary charging stations at the office. In addition, our employees have the option to lease bicycles. We strive to plan our technicians’ service calls to minimize the number of miles driven. The individual reporting from the track-and-trace system in the vehicles contributes to safe and fuel-efficient travel.
Prosperity
We are fully committed to innovation, while taking into account the economic impact this has on the surrounding community. For example, we have launched our own Safespace platform as a cost-effective and reliable IoT solution. This platform enables us to reduce the “total cost of ownership” of a system and extend its lifespan through preventive maintenance. Meanwhile, we also utilize energy from renewable sources (solar energy).
Peace
Open communication between employees and the employer is one of our core values (transparent communication). All our employees are familiar with the values that define Alertis’ identity, and a Code of Conduct will be drafted shortly to formalize these values. We also place a high priority on customer satisfaction and have a procedure in place for handling complaints.
Partnerships
We have established strong, long-term partnerships with suppliers and manufacturers, such as Limotec (Halma Group), Honeywell, Nedap, and Avigilon, which result in regular product feedback, repeat business, and collaboration on major projects. In this context, our employees participate in various training programs both domestically and abroad to maintain a high level of service. We also promise our customers, through specific SLAs, fast and long-term 24/7 support, striving to be a “partner for life” for our customers’ evolving needs.
